FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Covering the likes of Frank Sinatra, Marvin Gaye, Stevie
Wonder and
Roberta Flack in one set is no mean feat, but that is the wealth
of
talent customers at The Villa Country House Hotel in Wrea Green
will
be enjoying, when songstress Jayne Crow makes a double appearance
on
November 4 and 5.
Crow, who has been compared to Elvis Costello1s
muli-million album
selling wife, Diana Krall, will be joining popular Villa regulars,
Dan
Forshaw Quartet, for two nights of polished jazz and soul. Eloquent
renditions of jazz ballads such as ‘Nearness of You1, have
earned
Jayne Crow praise from fellow musicians and jazz critics alike.
Citing the great Ella Fitzgerald as one of her influences, the
Carnforth based vocalist will join DFQ for an eclectic mix of
some of
the greatest songs in jazz and soul. Songs on the playlist such
as the
Latin flavoured ‘Girl from Ipanema1, Frank Sinatra1s ‘Lady
is a
Tramp,1 I Heard it through the Grapevine and Stevie Wonder1s
funk-filled ‘Superstition,1 are sure to fuel a night to
remember.
Jazz nights at the Villa constantly prove to be a huge success,
drawing live music fans and jazz connoisseurs from around the
West
Lancashire area. Since the rise in popularity of Jamie Cullum
and
Norah Jones, the nights at The Villa are also becoming a popular
haunt
for new legions of jazz fans. The special performances at the
venue
on Friday 4 November and on Bonfire Night will be the last of

"The
jazz nights really have proved to be a monumental success. The
billing
of Jayne Crow for the last two nights of the year, make the event
that
bit extra special.
We are excited to have secured someone of such vocal talent to
perform
at The Villa, alongside the Dan Forshaw Quartet, who have agreed
to
play more special jazz nights throughout next year. We look forward
to
seeing some fresh new faces, as well as our regular jazz fans
over the
weekend."
